Obituary


Rebecca Avalon Cherry, 73, beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2015 at The Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, NY, following several years with Alzheimer's Disease.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Karen Goulet (Geneva, NY), her son, Matthew Goulet (Los Angeles, CA), sister, Miriam (William) Moore (Upper Marlboro, MD), grandchildren, Avery Clair-Goulet and Max Clair, and loving nieces, nephew, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Gideon and Avalou, sister Annie Hubscher, and brother Donald.

She will be missed by her community at Oak Chapel United...

Becky is survived by her daughter, Karen Goulet (Geneva, NY), her son, Matthew Goulet (Los Angeles, CA), sister, Miriam (William) Moore (Upper Marlboro, MD), grandchildren, Avery Clair-Goulet and Max Clair, and loving nieces, nephew, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Gideon and Avalou, sister Annie Hubscher, and brother Donald.

She will be missed by her community at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church in Silver Spring, MD, and her former colleagues at Montgomery County Public Schools, especially Rock Creek Forest Elementary School, from which she retired in 2004.

Memorial services will be held later this spring. Contributions in her memory can be made to Oak Chapel UMC, 14500 Layhill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20906 or to the Alzheimer's Association.
