Eleanor Z. Heinlein (Zapf) of Brighton, passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort of her loving husband of 26 years, George Heinlein on September 15, 2017, at age 81 .

Eleanor was a person of her choices and what she loved. She was an active volunteer and philanthropist at Mary Cariola and the Sisters of St. Joseph; dedicating her time and extending a gentle hand to all those she interacted with. She chose to express her admiration of her faith through music by participating in the St. Monica's choir and joyfully playing her...

Eleanor Z. Heinlein (Zapf) of Brighton, passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort of her loving husband of 26 years, George Heinlein on September 15, 2017, at age 81 .

Eleanor was a person of her choices and what she loved. She was an active volunteer and philanthropist at Mary Cariola and the Sisters of St. Joseph; dedicating her time and extending a gentle hand to all those she interacted with. She chose to express her admiration of her faith through music by participating in the St. Monica's choir and joyfully playing her trumpet in the Irondequoit Concert and New Horizon Bands. Eleanor was the recipient of the Lumina-Lux Award from Nazareth High School recognizing her service to the community and commitment to Nazareth.

Eleanor and George, cherished time together at their serene cabin in Dansville, NY and traveling the world together. Eleanor and George beamed when surrounded by their family and close friends. Eleanor is survived by her four children; Mary (Tim) Jones, Donna (Chuck) Graham, Joseph (Wendy) Rausch, and Ann (Edward) Millet; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her opened arms welcomed all to reside in a special place in her heart. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all those who exuded the highest care and devotion to Eleanor every day until her peaceful passing.

Eleanor's family encourages all family and friends to join in celebrating her positive impact and love of life. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 17th from 4-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of ALVAH HALLORAN & SON, 2125 Chili Ave., Gates. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 18th in St. Monica's Church, 831 Genesee St., Rochester . Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
